WESTMINSTER, Md. -- Kate Ziegler had a team-high four goals for the Elizabethtown College women's lacrosse team in Friday's 19-5 loss at McDaniel.
Hannah Cressman added a goal and two assists and
Alayna Trynosky made a season-high 12 saves for Etown.
McDaniel (5-0) scored five of the first six goals of the game to get ahead of the Blue Jays. Ziegler had a first-quarter hat trick for Elizabethtown (1-4). The graduate student finished the night with four to give her 24 for the season through five games, already surpassing her season total from 2021. Both of Cressman's assists came on two of the three first-quarter goals for the Blue Jays.
Madison Hennelly assisted on Ziegler's fourth of the game, which came in the second quarter after Etown trailed 8-3 after one. The Green Terror outscored Elizabethtown 4-1 in the second and took a 12-4 lead into halftime.
McDaniel kept Etown in check in the second half, only allowing the Jays one goal, which came from Cressman.
Anna Charitonchick provided the assist on the junior's goal.
Cassidy Pawlicki had a team-high four caused turnovers and six ground balls. Trynosky, who went the full 60 for Elizabethtown, saved 12, one more than her counterpart for McDaniel, Caroline Ramsey. She finished with 11 stops through three quarters.
The women's lacrosse teams plays at Lebanon Valley on Wednesday, March 16, at 4 p.m.
