EWING TOWNSHIP, N.J. - The Elizabethtown College wrestling team dropped duals to Alvernia and TCNJ in a tri-match Friday night.
With the two losses, the Blue Jays fall to 7-6 on the season.
Etown opened the evening against the Golden Wolves, who rattled off three consecutive victories to take an early 13-0 lead. Junior
Shane Strausser battled back to get the Blue Jays on the board, pinning Jason Rezac in 3:54 to make the score 13-6.
That, however, would be the only win of the opening match for Etown, as Alvernia scored the 39-6 victory.
It was a similar start to the Blue Jays' dual against the Lions, as TCNJ rattled off five-straight victories for the early 21-0 advantage. Junior
Brian Schneider stopped the Lions' run at 165 pounds, earning his fifth major decision of the season against Matt Surich, 12-4.
That would be the only win for Etown in its final match of the day, falling to TCNJ 41-4.
The Blue Jays wrap up the regular season at home on Friday, February 11 against Messiah. Opening bout is set for 7 p.m.
