ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - The Elizabethtown College wrestling team fell to Messiah, 33-6, Friday night in Thompson Gymnasium.

With the loss, the Blue Jays fall to 7-7 on the season, while the Falcons improve to 8-7.

Before the start of the dual, Elizabethtown celebrated their six seniors: Hunter Beaudet, Nick Gonzalez, Quinn Hogue, Jakob Latham, Luke Moynihan, and team manager Megan Thompson.

The Blue Jays jumped on the board first for an early 3-0 lead, as sophomore Ethan Liptzin took advantage of riding time to secure an 11-10 victory over Hunter Rinehart.

Messiah responded with four consecutive victories to move ahead 15-3. Junior Brian Schneider responded for Etown, scoring early in his match and then battling to the end for the 8-3 decision over Zach Needles to make the score 15-6.

The Falcons however won the final four matches to secure the 33-6 victory over the Blue Jays.

Elizabethtown is back in action on Sunday, February 20 at the Future Mid-East Tournament hosted by Muhlenberg. Matches begin at 10 a.m.
