SCRANTON, Pa. -- Scranton got the better of the Elizabethtown College women's soccer team on Saturday at Weiss Field. The Royals led 2-0 at the half and finished with a 3-0 win over the Blue Jays.
Emily Bannon put the Royals ahead 1-0 in the third minute as they jumped out in front of Elizabethtown (5-6, 1-2 Landmark) right away.
Scranton (9-2-1) did not allow a single shot to Etown in the first half as they built a 2-0 lead going into the break.
Skylar Mumford (2) and
Jenna Hoffmann were able to generate shots in the second half for the Blue Jays, but only Mumford's chance late in the game was on target.
The Royals added a third goal late on to make it 3-0.
Trinity Soto had four saves in the game.
Rena Rankin played the final seven and a half minutes for the Jays.
Elizabethtown concludes a three-game stretch on the road at Moravian on Wednesday, October 12.
