HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Elizabethtown College women's volleyball team fell in straight sets to both Geneseo and Eastern on the final day of the Ford Invitational hosted by Haverford.
With the two losses, the Blue Jays fall to 3-3 on the season.
Geneseo took the opening match 22-25, 24-26, 21-25. Senior
Shelly Yohe finished with a team-high nine kills. Sophomore
Georgianna Kahley tallied seven kills, 14 digs, and four solo blocks while classmate
Katie Scaggs registered five solo blocks of her own. Sophomore
Kambrie Hepler recorded a team-high 28 digs and senior
Rileigh Hudock handed out 17 assists.
Eastern scored the win in the second match by a final score of 22-25, 24-26, 24-26. Hudock followed up her opening match performance with a double-double against the Eagles, finishing with 17 assists and 10 digs. Kahley registered eight kills and 15 digs while Hepler had 18 digs. Yohe recorded six kills to finish the day with 15.
The Blue Jays return to Thompson on Thursday, September 16 to take on Delaware Valley. Opening serve is set for 7 p.m.
