HAVERFORD, Pa. - The Elizabethtown College women's volleyball team topped the Cabrini Cavaliers, 3-1, on day one of the Ford Invitational hosted by Haverford Friday evening.
With the win, the Blue Jays improve to 3-1 on the season, while Cabrini falls to 1-4 overall.
Junior
Bryanna Miller has a monster night, registering her first double-double with 20 kills and 20 digs while hitting over .400 for the second straight match (.415). It is he fourth time in her career that she has tallied 20 or more kills.
Senior
Shelly Yohe joined Miller on the attack, racking up eight kills on the right side while hitting .364.
Sophomore
Kambrie Hepler (28) and
Gianna Krinock (13) each had doube-digit digs for the Blue Jays and junior
Sarah Hanks recorded a double-double of her own with 21 assists and 11 digs.
Sophomore
Katie Scaggs continues her domination at the net, finishing the night wth five solo blocks and two block assists. As of September 9, she was tied for sixth in Division III with a 1.50 blocks per set average.
Elizabethtown returns to Haverford tomorrow for day two of the Ford Invitational. The Blue Jays will open the day against Geneseo (12 p.m.) followed by Eastern (2 p.m.).
