GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Another day and another award for senior
Kelly Holdren of the Elizabethtown College baseball team. After earning a spot on the D3baseball.com All-Region First Team, Holdren was named to the ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III All-Mid-Atlantic Region First Team.
The recognition should come as no surprise for Holdren, who was stout on the mound in his 11 appearances. He led the Landmark Conference in earned run average and strikeouts, a career-high 48. Holdren also tied for the league lead with six wins and tied for second with one save.
Among those pitchers eligible, he also led the conference in strikeouts per nine innings at 13.36, and was the only hurler in the Landmark to average over 10.00 K/9. His season ERA of 0.28 was also just one of two below a 1.00.
Holdren was an All-Landmark Conference First Team selection as well as First Team All-Mid-Atlantic Relief Pitcher for D3baseball.com. The senior was one of four pitchers selected to the ABCA/Rawlings All-Mid-Atlantic First Team.
