ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- Senior
Kelly Holdren added another accolade to his resume recently after being named to the D3baseball.com All-Mid-Atlantic First Team for the Elizabethtown College baseball program. Holdren was one of the nation's top relief pitchers during the 2021 season. He is the fifth different player in school history to earn the honor from D3baseball.com.
Holdren, who only allowed one earned run in 11 appearances during the 2021 campaign, earned his first career all-conference honor last week with a spot on the All-Landmark Conference First Team. He was one of four Blue Jays to be voted to the all-conference teams.
Etown's go-to relief option ranked in the top ten across Division III in earned run average and also ranked in the top 25 in strikeouts per nine innings. Holdren was the first player in program history to be named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week and also earned the conference's Pitcher of the Week honor this past season.
Holdren is one of three players from the Landmark Conference to be named to the All-Mid-Atlantic Region Teams along with Scranton's Daniel Johnson and Catholic's Tucker Alch, both of whom were Second Team Starting Pitchers.
Holdren joins Kyle Fackler, Kristopher Davis, Anthony Knight, and
Derek Manning as the only players in Elizabethtown history to be named D3baseball.com All-Region. He is the first player to receive First Team since Manning in 2018 and only the third since 2014.
