ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Graduate student Lenea Riehl and junior Kailey Caroland remained unbeaten at #1 doubles, but the Elizabethtown College women's tennis team fell to Catholic, 6-3, Thursday afternoon.
With the loss, the Blue Jays fall to 2-4 on the season and in conference play, while the Cardinals are now 5-2 overall and in the Landmark.
Riehl and Caroland won their fifth consecutive #1 doubles match of the season, 8-3, over junior Brooke Simonson and sophomore Abby Cassidy. The pair are 15-3 as a duo all-time and have not dropped a doubles match since May 1, 2019 against Scranton in the Landmark Conference semifinals.
Caroland doubled up on the day, topping Simonson at #1 singles, 6-4. 6-4. Scoring Etown's other point was sophomore Katie Hollen who beat junior Olivia Sensenbrenner, 6-4, 6-4, at #6 singles.
