ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- Amelia Lark drove in runs in both games for the Elizabethtown College softball team, including her first career home run, but the result was a pair of losses for the Blue Jays to Juniata at The Nest on Tuesday.
Game 1: Juniata 3, Elizabethtown 2
Lark opened up the scoring with an RBI base hit in the bottom of the first of game one, scoring
Grace Hussey.
Paige Phillips maintained the 1-0 lead on the mount through four innings. Juniata (5-11, 5-11 Landmark) scored three runs in the fifth to break up the shutout and grab a 3-1 lead.
Lark scored on an error in the bottom half of the inning to cut it to 3-2, but Cate Baran closed out the game in the sixth and seventh.
Lark and Hussey each had two hits in game one.
Game 2: Juniata 12, Elizabethtown 4 (F/6)
The Eagles' offense put up some runs for the visitors in game two, posting runs in five of the six innings.
Lark got Elizabethtown (2-14, 2-14 Landmark) on the board in the first with a solo home run over the left field fence to make it 2-1.
Maddie Kupcha tied the game an inning later with an RBI single down the right field line.
Juniata grabbed the lead back in the third and didn't relinquish it the rest of the way.
Catherine Miller threw six innings and held Etown to four runs in the 12-4 win for the Eagles in six innings.
