WILKES-BARRE, Pa. – The Elizabethtown College wrestling team fell to Wilkes, 29-12, Wednesday evening.

With the loss, the Blue Jays fall to 1-2 on the season while the Colonels improve to 1-1.

Wilkes took control of the match early, winning the first four matches, including two major decisions, for the 17-0 lead.

Senior Luke Moynihan stopped the run by the Colonels at 157, earning his first dual victory of the season by topping freshman Charles Everdale, 9-6.

Junior Brian Schneider continued to chip away at Wilkes lead in dramatic fashion, earning the 7-5 sudden victory decision over junior James Geiger, making the overall score 17-6.

The Colonels, however sealed the win, rattling off three more victories before the 285 match, giving the home team 29 points. Sophomore Dylan Waller ended the night for Etown with a win, pinning sophomore Sean McCurdy in 34 seconds. It was Waller's team-leading fourth win by fall and his ninth of the season.

Elizabethtown is back in action on Saturday, November 20 at the Wildcat Invitational hosted by Penn College. Matches begin at 10:30 a.m.
