POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - The Elizabethtown College men's basketball team fell to Wesleyan, 85-61, in the championship game of the Hochberg Family Tip-Off Tournament Saturday afternoon.
With the loss, the Blue Jays drop their first game of the season and fall to 2-1 while the Cardinals remain undefeated at 2-0.Â

Aidan Trynosky was named to the All-Tournament team, finishing the game with eight points and three steals. Sophomore
Tyreke Herbert and freshman
Alon Gorham each scored a team-high 14 points.Â
Wesleyan had five different players score in double-figures, led by 12 points from Nicky Johnson and Gabe Ravetz.
After a slow start to the game for both teams offensively, the Cardinals used a 19-2 run to move ahead of the Blue Jays by 15 at 21-6 with 8:56 remaining in the opening stanza.
After Wesleyan pushed its advantage to 20 (28-8) with 6:06 left in the first half, Etown responded with a 16-8 rally to end the period, making the halftime score 36-24. Herbert had six points over this stretch and freshmanÂ
Rance Russo tallied five.
The Cardinals, however, took the momentum right back in the second half, pushing its lead back to 20 just under five minutes into the period on their way to the 85-61 victory.
The Blue Jays made 23-61 (37.7%) from the field and shot 32.1% (9-28) from three. Wesleyan finished the game shooting 54% (34-63) from the floor and made 7-22 (31.8%) from beyond the arc. The Cardinals found their advantage in the paint, outscoring Etown 48-18.
Elizabethtown remains on the road on Tuesday November 16 at Cabrini. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
