ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Elizabethtown College wrestling fell to Division I Franklin & Marshall, 33-9, Wednesday night in Thompson Gymnasium.
With the loss, the Blue Jays fall to 1-1 on the season while the Diplomats win their season opening dual.
In the opening match at 125 sophomore Ethan Liptzin won it in thrilling fashion, scoring a sudden death victory over Elijah Wallace, 10-8, giving the Blue Jays the early 3-0 lead.
F&M would grab back the momentum and the match from Etown, scoring 33 consecutive points before sophomore Dylan Waller earned a win by forfeit to make the final score 33-9.
Elizabethtown gets back to work on Saturday, November 10 at the Racich Rumble Invitational hosted by Ursinus. First matches start at 9 a.m.
