ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. - The Elizabethtown College women's tennis team won two of three doubles matches to top Lycoming, 5-4, Saturday afternoon in non-conference action.
The two teams split the six singles matches with senior
Kailey Caroland topping Hanna Seebold 6-3, 6-1 at #1 singles, sophomore
Morgan Bleicher beat Haley Seebold, 6-2, 6-2 at #4 singles and senior
Maddy Binder grabbed the third point with a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Emily Engelhardt at #6 singles.
The difference in the match was found at doubles as Caroland and freshman
Gabriella Palladini teamed up at #1 doubles for the 8-6 win over Seebold and Madison Heller. Sophomore
Kaylee Mustard and Binder earned the deciding points at #3 doubles, scoring the 8-1 victory over Rei Saar and Addison Angstadt and helping Etown open the season 1-0.
Elizabethtown returns to action tomorrow, October 10 when they host Penn College. Opening serve is set for 12 p.m.
