Sharp, Watson Collect Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week Awards

TOWSON, Md. – Junior Lexie Sharp (women's lacrosse) and freshman Ben Watson (baseball) each earned their respective Landmark Conference Athlete of the Week Awards, announce by the organization Monday afternoon.

Sharp finished the week with a total of 15 points, including 10 goals in the Blue jays 23-10 win against Eastern on Saturday. The Woodbine, N.J. native tied the program record for most goal in a game held by her and 2009 graduate Katie Foley, set the program record for shots in a game (19) and her 11 points is tied for fifth most in a game in program history. Sharp leads the Landmark Conference in goals (27) and is second in points (33).

Watson had a monster week in Florida, leading the Blue Jays to a 5-1 record. The Glen Mills, Pa. native hit .429 with nine RBI, six runs scored and his first collegiate home run. In Elizabethtown's doubleheader against Muskingum, Watson tallied four hits, three RBI, a double, a home run and four runs scored. He is third in the conference in RBI (11) and fifth in batting average (.432).

Both teams are back in action tomorrow, Mar. 9, as women's lacrosse takes on Immaculata (4 p.m.) at home and baseball is on the road against Franklin & Marshall (3:30 p.m.)
