ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Down 14 late in the first half, the Elizabethtown men's basketball team battled back to top St. Mary's, 74-71, in the championship game of the Spooky Nook Tournament Saturday afternoon.
With the win, the Blue Jays improve to 6-4 on the season while the Seahawks fall to 4-10.

Ethan DuBois was named Tournament MVP, dishing out a career-high 13 assists to go along with seven points and five rebounds. Also earning All-Tournament Team honors was classmate
Connor Moffatt, tallying 18 points and grabbing eight boards. Freshman
Wyatt Hockenberry scored a career-high 20 points while senior
Bryce Greene also finished in double-figures with 16 points.
Junior Miles Gillette was named to the All-Tournament Team for St. Mary's, dropping a game-high 21 points.
With the Seahawks leading by 14 points (39-25) with four seconds remaining in the first half, DuBois went the length of the court and nailed a runner in the lane to beat the buzzer and make the halftime score 39-27.
Sophomore
Zach Nannen helped the Blue Jays cut the advantage to single-digits in the first three minutes of the second half, grabbing an offensive rebound and going right back up with it for the basket, moving Elizabethtown within eight (41-33)

The two teams continued to battle as the Blue Jays continued to chip away moving within four at 53-49 with 9:53 on the clock. Hockenberry then got hot from deep, draining back-to-back threes to give Elizabethtown its first lead of the game, 55-53.
The game stayed a one possession game the rest of the way as the Blue Jays held a three point lead (74-71) with 12 seconds on the clock. Freshman Jalen Hayes had a look for the visitors at three to tie it, but his shot went begging and Moffatt came down with the rebound to close out the sixth victory of the season for Elizabethtown.
The Blue Jays were 29-72 (40.3%) from the field, while shooting 21.7% (5-23) from three. Saint Mary's finished the game 42.6% (26-61) overall and made 5-19 (26.3%) from beyond the arc. Elizabethtown finds its advantage in the paint, outscoring the Seahawks, 44-32.
The Blue Jays are back in action on Tuesday, Jan. 7, when they host Lancaster Bible in non-conference action. Opening tip is set for 5 p.m.
