BALTIMORE, Md. – For the first time in his career, senior Tom Mahoney was selected as an Inside Lacrosse Third Team Preseason All-American announced by the organization on Friday.

2020 INSIDE LACROSSE PRESEASON ALL-AMERICA TEAM

Mahoney is coming off an excellent 2019 season that saw him earn USILA Warrior Division III All-America Honorable Mention accolades.

The Hillsborough, N.J. native, Mahoney had a career year in goal for Elizabethtown making 18 starts during his junior season, he won a career-best 11 games, tied for the most in the Landmark as he was named First Team All-Conference. Mahoney also had a career-high 198 saves, 34 ground balls, and five caused turnovers.

Mahoney is now the school's all-time leader in career saves with 471 and his 9.19 goals against average was also best in the Landmark Conference. He gave up only nine goals between two conference tournament games to help the Jays to their third consecutive Landmark championship.

The Elizabethtown men's lacrosse team opens the season at home against Coast Guard. Opening faceoff is set for 1 p.m.
