Both teams had opportunities to grab an early lead in the first ten minutes. Sam Chillis' shot was saved by
Trinity Soto in the third minute.
Leigh Ungerleider had her chance stopped by Madi Welliver a little over four minutes later.
Janelle Barna blasted a shot off the crossbar in the 13th minute.
Susquehanna (6-2-1, 1-0 Landmark) struck in the 15th minute, utilizing the speed of Anna Werner. Alee Pettit played a ball over top and Werner was able to run onto it, get into the box and score far side to give the River Hawks the lead.
Welliver was needed for another three saves to close out the first half as Elizabethtown (4-3-1, 0-1 Landmark) tested the SU keeper.
Neither side gave up a quality chance in the second half as the defenses held stout, forcing shots from outside the box. Barna had another long distance attempt off a free kick that went in on frame, but Welliver collected it with no harm done.
One last opportunity by Barna was stopped in the 88th minute and Susquehanna escaped with a narrow 1-0 win to start off Landmark Conference play.
