LANCASTER, Pa. – The Elizabethtown women's volleyball team stretched its winning streak to eight games, topping Lancaster Bible 3-1 on the road Wednesday night in non-conference action.
With the win the Blue Jays improve to 9-1, while the Chargers fall to 2-6.
Elizabethtown is off to their best start since the 2007 team started the year 10-1. The '07 team would go on to finish the year at 32-7, win the Commonwealth Championship and make it to the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Bryanna Miller recorded a double-double with 13 kills and 13 digs. Sophomore
Rileigh Hudock (16) and freshman
Sarah Hanks (17) combined for 33 assists. Junior
Aiyana Tietze-Di Toro finished with a team-high 23 digs.
ELIZABETHTOWN 3, LANCASTER BIBLE 1 (25-19, 17-25, 26-24, 26-24)
• SET ONE: Holding a one point lead, Elizabethtown scored five of the next six points, including block by senior
Elle Shatto and
Courtney Westman to force a Lancaster Bible timeout up 13-8. The Blue Jays pushed their lead to as many as eight in the opening set, taking an early 1-0 lead, 25-19.
• SET TWO: The Chargers rebounded in the second set, running out to a 12-6 lead midway through. Elizabethtown would close within four twice more, but could not close the gap anymore, tying the score at one, 25-17.
• SET THREE: In what would be the start of a wild final two sets, the Blue Jays looked to be in the driver set, up 23-20 after a kill by junior
Shelly Yohe. After a timeout by Lancaster Bible, the Chargers would hold off four straight match points to tie the score at 24. Elizabethtown however wrestled back control of the third set, thanks to back-to-back kills by Miller, giving the Blue Jays a 2-1 advantage.
• SET FOUR: Elizabethtown had to come from behind in the fourth and final set, recovering from a late two point deficit. Lancaster Bible held a two point lead (22-20), before the Blue Jays rattled off the three straight points to take a 23-22 lead. The score would be tied at 23 and then again at 24 until Elizabethtown wrapped up the 3-1 victory with the final two points for the Blue Jays ninth win of the season.
Elizabethtown returns home for its first tri-match of the season, hosting Clarks Summit and Mount Aloysius on Saturday, September 14. The Blue Jays will play at 12 p.m. and 4 p.m.
