TEMPE, Ariz. – Five members of the Elizabethtown women's tennis team were named Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar Athletes, while the team earned ITA All-Academic Team accolades.

The five individuals honored by the ITA include seniors
Amber Burd,
Meghan Chemidlin and
Laura Gribble, junior
Sarah Donner and freshman
Kailey Caroland. Burd is a four-time recipient of the award, while Chemidlin is a three-time recipient, Donner and Gribble are two-time recipients and Caroland takes home the accolade in her first year at the collegiate level.
This marks the fifth consecutive year that the Blue Jays' women's tennis program had an individual honored as an ITA Scholar-Athlete and the most since 2017 when six players received the accolade (
Lauren Berry, Burd,
Annie Cosgrove, Gribble,
Taylor Helsel,
Madison McCall and
Sam Procak). The program has also taken home the team award four out of the last five years.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale). All varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year (including fall 2018 and spring 2019).
