READING, Pa. -- In their final non-conference doubleheader of the season, the Elizabethtown College softball team dropped a pair at Albright on Wednesday.
Emma Varrato had three hits and
Christina Dark drove in two runs for the Blue Jays in game two.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1: Albright 9, Elizabethtown 0 (F/5)
- Albright (21-15) had a 4-0 lead after the second inning of game one.
- Elizabethtown (16-20) had a runner in scoring position in the second and third innings, but were unable to manufacture the run.
- A five-run fourth inning gave the Lions a 9-0 lead going into the fifth.
- The Blue Jays had the bases loaded in the fifth and a chance to avoid an early ending to game one, but a fly out ended things in the fifth.
Game 2: Albright 14, Elizabethtown 6 (F/6)

Jillian Meitzler singled through the left side in the second to get a run back for E-town after the Jays were down 5-0 after one.
- Dark drove in her first of a team-high two runs with a base hit to right center in the third to cut the lead down to 6-2.

Lindsey Fasolo knocked in a run with a single to center in the fourth.

Sarah Hartinger and
Tess Straight both scored runs in the fifth inning as the Blue Jays closed the gap to three, 8-5.

Catherine Amos drove in
Taylor Herman with a single to right with the bases loaded.
- Albright got a two-run double in the sixth that made it 14-6 to end game two and get the sweep for the Lions.
UP NEXT
Elizabethtown will host Scranton for Senior Day needing to win both games to get into the Landmark Conference tournament. A pair of wins would earn the Blue Jays the No. 4 seed. Saturday's game one is set for 1 p.m.
