ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- Lindsey Fasolo and
Kaitlyn Witmer combined for seven RBIs in game one for the Elizabethtown College softball team. The Blue Jays earned an 8-3 win over York (Pa.) College before the Spartans salvaged a split with E-town by winning game two 9-1 in six innings.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1: Elizabethtown 8, York (Pa.) 3
- Fasolo and Witmer each had RBI singles in the first inning to put Elizabethtown (14-18) ahead 2-0.
- Taylor Lindsay homered in the fourth to cut the lead down to 2-1.
- Witmer knocked in her second run of the game in the fifth with a base hit to center field to score Fasolo.

Paige Phillips hit a sac fly to center to score
Brinley Schmidt and make it 4-1 for the Blue Jays in the fifth.
- York (Pa.) (22-14) got two runs back in the sixth as they trailed by one, 4-3, going into the bottom of the inning.
- For the second inning in the game, Fasolo and Witmer both drove in runs. The sophomore combo each had a hit that plated a pair of runs. Fasolo's two-run single to right center scored
Emma Varrato and
Amelia Lark. Witmer doubled to left field to score Schmidt and
Taylor Herman. The four-run inning put E-town up 8-3 going into the seventh.

Amber Sergas, the reigning Landmark Pitcher of the Week, threw another complete game for Elizabethtown to earn her fifth straight win when starting in the circle for EC.
- Varrato, the Landmark's Player of the Week, went 3-for-4 with two runs scored.
Game 2: York (Pa.) 9, Elizabethtown 1 (F/6)
- Elizabethtown went up in the first inning once again as Schmidt dropped a single in center field to score Herman.
- The Spartans took control beginning in the third inning.
- YCP scored four in the third, one in the fourth, two in the fifth, and two more in the sixth.
- Ginger Lewis held E-town scoreless after the first inning and struck out five en route to her 11th win of the year.

Alyssa Wilkinson and
Christina Dark each pitched three innings for the Blue Jays.
- Herman had a team-high two hits in game two.
UP NEXT
Elizabethtown will travel to New Jersey on Saturday, April 20, to face Drew in a Landmark Conference doubleheader.
