ASTON, Pa. -- Arcadia took a pair of neutral site games from the Elizabethtown College baseball team on Saturday. The Knights got ahead early in game one and went on to win 11-2 before holding off the Blue Jays in a low-scoring 3-1 victory in the second game of a doubleheader at the MSI Sports Village.
Mike Christy had an RBI in each game for E-town.
Arcadia (2-0) scored in each of the first four innings and jumped out in front of Elizabethtown (0-2) 10-0 by the end of the fourth.
E-town broke through in the sixth on RBIs from Christy and
JT Thompson.
Derek Manning scored the first run of the game.
Michael Rajnik crossed the plate on Thompson's base knock to center field. Manning was a team-best 2-for-3 in game one.
Anthony Knight, Rajnik, Thompson, and
Riley McGinley also collected hits for the Blue Jays.
Joel Bartoni limited Elizabethtown to just two hits in the second game of the day. One of them, a double by Christy, produced the Jays' lone run as Manning scored his second run of the day.
The Knights had a 2-0 lead before Christy's RBI double to left center. Bartoni kept it there and Mitch Blake closed out the game in the seventh for his first save.
Elizabethtown will travel to Fort Pierce, Fla. for a week of spring training games. Those games begin with a doubleheader against Muskingum on Sunday, March 3, at 11 a.m.
