ANNVILLE, Pa. – The Elizabethtown men's basketball team dropped its final game before Thanksgiving break, falling to Lebanon Valley, 79-65, Tuesday night in non-conference action.
 
With the loss, the Blue Jays fall to 2-2 on the season, while the Dutchmen improve to 3-3.
 
Senior Connor Moffatt finished with a game-high 22 points and fell one rebound short of a double-double with nine. Senior Bryce Greene was the only other player to finish in double figures for Elizabethtown.
 
Lebanon Valley was led by sophomore Jeremy Deihm who tallied 16 points and eight rebounds. Junior Zach Tucker scored 12 points of his own while dishing out nine assists.
 
The Dutchmen opened the game on a 13-3 run after a three pointer by sophomore Mason Green gave the home team a 10 point advantage with 14:22 remaining in the first half.
 
The Blue Jays began to chip away at Lebanon Valley's lead and managed to tie the game after a
layup by freshman Drew Riley knotted things at 24 with 4:42 left in the opening stanza.
 
The Dutchmen, however, pushed its advantage back to five before the break, taking the 39-24 lead into the locker room.
 
Elizabethtown managed to hang around at the start of the second period, closing within four after a layup by Greene made the score 38-43.
 
However, that is as close as the Blue Jays would get, as Lebanon Valley pushed its lead to as many as 19, earning its third win of the season, 79-65.
 
Elizabethtown shot 38.9% (28-72) from the floor, while knocking down 5-33 (15.2%) from beyond the arc. The Dutchmen made 28-56 (50%) overall and shot 40% (6-15) from three.
 
Lebanon Valley controlled the boards, outrebounding the Blue Jays by 12 (47-35), but the visitors managed to still outscore Lebanon Valley, 46-38 in the paint.
 
Elizabethtown return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 4, as the Blue Jays host Valley Forge in non-conference play. Opening tip is set for 8 p.m.
