Men's Soccer Remains Perfect in Conference Play with Win Over Drew

MADISON, N.J. – The Elizabethtown men's soccer team remained undefeated in conference play, topping Drew, 2-0, on the road Saturday afternoon.

With the win, the Blue Jays improve to 8-3-1 overall and 2-0-0 in the Landmark. The Rangers fall to 4-6-2 on the season and 0-2-1 in league play.

For the second consecutive game, sophomore Garrett Winchilla scored for Elizabethtown, while the Blue Jays other goal was an own goal by Drew. Junior Eli Perry assisted on Winchilla's game winner.

Winchilla wasted little time finding the 1-0 advantage for Elizabethtown, as Perry sent a deep pass to him and Winchilla tallied his second goal of the season with only 13 seconds ticking off the clock.

The Blue Jays pushed its lead to two in the 12th minute, taking advantage of a Rangers' miscue for the own goal.

The Elizabethtown defense held strong in the second half, keeping Drew off the board and pushing its goal differential to 8-1 in conference play with the 2-0 win.

Freshman Kelvin Del Cid (8-3-1) secured his fifth shutout of the season, making six saves. Del Cid has not allowed a goal in his last three games.

Senior Jason Adamo (4-5-0) made five, saves on nine shots taking the loss.
