ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- The accolades piled up for Derek Manning after a remarkable 2018 season for the Elizabethtown College baseball team. Heading into the 2019 season, Manning was named to the D3baseball.com Preseason All-America Team as an honorable mention. The preseason All-America team is chosen from previous years' All-American and All-Region nominations.

Last season, Manning led the Landmark Conference in batting average, hits, doubles, and on base percentage. He ranked second in multiple other categories and broke Elizabethtown's record for doubles in the single season. Sophomore eligible in 2018, Manning was also named the Landmark's Player of the Year.

He went on to earn ABCA/Rawlings All-Mid-Atlantic First Team honors as well as a spot on the All-America Third Team. Academically, Manning earned Google Cloud Academic All-America First Team.

Elizabethtown's 2019 season kicks off on February 23 with a doubleheader against Arcadia in Aston, Pa.
