Klipple selected as USILA/Nike Honorable Mention All-American

PERRY, N.Y. -- Elizabethtown College's increased performance has led to a bump in notoriety. That was accentuated again on Friday afternoon when junior defenseman Jeremy Klipple was named a United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association/Nike Honorable Mention All-American.

Klipple is the fifth Blue Jay to receive national postseason honors in the last three years, joining former teammates Joe Clark and Mike Specht, who were selected to Honorable Mention teams in 2016 and 2017. Prior to 2016, the program's only All-Americans were Frankie Puzzangara (2007) and Aaron Weber (2010) --both E-town hall of famers.

Klipple, the Landmark Player of the Year and All-Landmark First Team pick, started each of Elizabethtown's 20 games this past season. He was responsible for 36 caused turnovers and 54 ground balls which ranked second and fourth in the conference, respectively.

A 2017 All-Landmark First Team defenseman and 2016 Second Team long stick midfielder, Klipple will enter his senior season one caused turnovers shy of joining Matt Frey '15 as the only Blue Jays to register 100 or more in a career. The Purcellville, Virginia native is already tied for second in program history with Mike Kenneally '11 at 99 caused turnovers. Klipple is within striking distance of joining E-town's top 10 leaders in ground balls, too, with 151 in three seasons.

Klipple scored his only point of the season with a goal against Stockton on April 11.
