GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The postseason awards continued to roll in for Elizabethtown College junior outfielder Derek Manning, Friday, as he was named All-America Third Team and All-Mid-Atlantic Region First Team by the American Baseball Coaches Association.

Manning, who was one of the top hitters in NCAA Division III, is just the fifth Blue Jay selected to an ABCA All-America team all-time and first since Adam Hartzell was named Third Team in 2009.
Manning's .457 batting average, 69 hits, 22 doubles and .506 on base percentage all led the Landmark Conference. He ranked second in slugging percentage (.675) and total bases (102), and third in runs (42).

The sophomore-eligible Manning, from East Petersburg, Pennsylvania, sits fourth in the nation with 0.56 doubles per game and fifth in total doubles after breaking the program's single-season record. Manning is also top in the nation in batting average (ninth) and ranks 34th in hits. Manning, the Landmark Conference Player of the Year, led all Blue Jays with 25 multi-hit games and finished the season on Elizabethtown's single-season top 10 lists in hits (third) and batting average (fifth).

Manning paced the Blue Jays in multiple offensive categories, including: batting average, hits, runs, doubles, RBIs (35), total bases, slugging percentage and on base percentage. On defense, he recorded a .973 fielding percentage with 71 putouts and an assist.
