WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Elizabethtown suffered an 8-1 defeat to Catholic on Sunday afternoon in a Landmark Conference match.

Sarah Donner's three-set victory at fourth singles accounted for the Blue Jays' lone point. The sophomore won the opening set 6-4, dropped the second 7-5, but closed out the Cardinals' Lisa Genadry 10-7 in a 10-point tiebreaker.

All three doubles matches were closely contested, but the hosts prevailed in each.

Catholic (12-8, 5-2 Landmark) secured the victory early in singles play with wins at the top three flights.

While Elizabethtown's (7-5, 4-2) chances to host a Landmark semifinal match took a major hit with Sunday's defeat, the Blue Jays know they are one of the four teams headed to the postseason.

The Blue Jays will head to Messiah Wednesday for a non-conference match before finishing the regular season at Moravian next Saturday.
