Greene named to All-Landmark Second Team

TOWSON, Md. -- Sophomore guard Bryce Greene has been named to the 2017-18 All-Landmark Conference Second Team, becoming the first Elizabethtown College men's basketball player to earn postseason honors from the conference since the Blue Jays joined in 2014-15.

The Westampton, N.J., native took a major step forward during his second year in Blue and Gray, leading the team and posting the sixth best scoring average in the conference at 17.7 points per game --an 11.5-point improvement over his rookie season.

Greene started all 24 games on his way to setting new career-highs across the board. In addition to scoring average, he topped the Blue Jays with 165 field goals made and 64 3-pointers --five shy of the program's single-season record. Greene also eclipsed 100 total rebounds for the year (106), finishing with 4.4 per game.

Despite being a focal point of opposing game plans, Greene put forth double-digit scoring efforts in all but two games and reached the 20-point mark nine times. He established a new career-high with 27 points on 10-of-16 shooting in a 62-61 win over Penn State Harrisburg on Dec. 17, and earned Landmark Athlete of the Week recognition for the first time one day later.

Greene went on to match his single-game career-high point total twice more in games against Susquehanna (Jan. 13) and at Goucher (Jan. 20), narrowly missing his first career double-double in both games with eight rebounds vs. Susquehanna and a career-best nine at Goucher.

Greene's 243 points against conference opponents ranked third and his 17.4 points per game in league play fifth.

Catholic senior Jay Howard, a four-time All-Landmark First Team choice, was selected by the league coaches as the Player of the Year. Juniata junior Seth Brewer took Defensive Player of the Year, Goucher freshman Jacob Smith was voted Rookie of the Year and Juniata's Greg Curley Coach of the Year.
