Blue Jay women best alums at Alumni Challenge

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. -- At the fifth annual Blue Jay Alumni Challenge, the Elizabethtown College women's cross country team had its five scorers in the top seven and the Blue Jays beat the alumni, 21-36, on the team's brand new course. Brenna McNamee was the top finisher for Elizabethtown.

The race winner for the second straight year was former ECXC standout Eileen Cody '14. Her winning time on Saturday was 15:56, three seconds off her pace from last year's race (15:53).

McNamee took second for E-town, her second consecutive meet as the Jays' top finisher. She ran 16:00.

Kelsey Brady came in behind her in third at 16:30 with Maria Anderson on her heels. Anderson was fourth in 16:31. Kaitlin Donahue placed fifth at 16:40.

Ashley Underkofler '15 grabbed sixth place in 16:49, just ahead of Colleen Kernan, who took seventh and rounded out Elizabethtown's scoring. The junior ran 16:51 in the 4k race.

The women's cross country will be well-rested for the next race: Dickinson Long-Short Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 30 at Big Spring High School.
