Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Scranton hands E-town 18-10 loss in Landmark semi

SCRANTON, Pa. -- Playing for the first time outside the regular season, the Elizabethtown College women's lacrosse team's time in the postseason was cut short by Scranton on Wednesday. The second-seeded Royals defeated the third-seeded Blue Jays in a Landmark Conference semifinal 18-10.

Dana Robidoux had Elizabethtown (11-5) ahead 2-1 after scoring the first two of the game for the Blue Jays. Scranton (11-5) scored first, at 28:11, on Erin Ahern's ninth to take a quick 1-0 lead.

Less than a minute after Robidoux's second, the Royals tied and then took the lead at 22:34 on Katie Rogers' 23rd of the year.

Scranton's lead lasted all of 19 seconds as Robidoux won the ensuing draw control after Rogers' goal. McLamb was fouled and earned a free position, which she converted into her 22nd of the season to retie the game, 3-3.

The Royals went on a 3-0 scoring run over a two minute span to double up the Jays, 6-3, before Stang scored her first of a team-high five in the game at 51st of the year, which tied her single-season career high.

Scranton moved ahead 9-4, but Stang got one back for E-town 1:14 before the half ended with 52nd of the season to set a new single-season career high. The goal came on a free position, as did her first.

Madelyn Baker brought Elizabethtown within three early in the second half with her 21st, on a free position.

The Royals put up five in a row before the Blue Jays could answer. McLamb and Stang scored back-to-back goals 25 seconds apart. Baker grabbed the draw control after McLamb's 23rd. Julia Ferrante found Stang for her hat trick goal and 53rd of the year. The goals forced a Scranton timeout, up 14-8 with 11:15 to go.

Stang added goals four and five out of the timeout and the Jays made it a game with 7:51 remaining. Scranton, though, scored the final four goals of the game as E-town was unable to score over the final 7:51.

Erin Putnam made two saves over that duration to close out the game. She finished with ten in the game. Abby Kopytko made six stops for Elizabethtown.

Stang posted five goals and an assist, while Robidoux and McLamb each had a pair of goals for EC. Baker added a goal and Ferrante an assist.
