Mahoney collects Landmark Defensive Athlete of the Week honor

TOWSON, Md. -- Tom Mahoney made eight stops, including a crucial game-saver in the final seconds, at Scranton last Thursday. Monday afternoon, the Landmark Conference named the Elizabethtown freshman goalie its Defensive Athlete of the Week.

Mahoney is 6-1 in seven starts following Thursday's 8-7 victory. The Hillsborough, New Jersey, native turned away two shots from the Royals in the final two minutes of the win --Elizabethtown's 18th straight Landmark regular season victory-- and came up with five of his eight saves in the second half.

Mahoney's six wins are currently tied for second most in the Landmark and his 7.77 goals against average ranks fifth. He's also made 69 saves and has a .552 save percentage to date.
