Greene named Landmark Athlete of the Week

TOWSON, Md. -- Sophomore guard Bryce Greene was named Landmark Conference Men's Basketball Athlete of the Week, Monday, following a career-high 27-point performance against Penn State Harrisburg on Sunday.

Greene is the second Elizabethtown College player to earn the honor since the Blue Jays joined the conference prior to the 2014-15 season.

The Westampton, New Jersey, native leads E-town in scoring at 18.9 points per game and has accounted for 28 of the team's 57 3-pointers to date.

Greene's 27 points lifted the Blue Jays to a 62-61 victory over Penn State Harrisburg on Sunday --Elizabethtown's second straight win after trailing at halftime. He shot 5-of-9 overall and 3-of-5 from distance to tally 15 of the team's 31 first-half points.

Greene stayed hot in the second half making 5-of-7 attempts for 12 points. The second-year player surpassed his previous career-high of 23 points, set back in the season opener at Stevenson on Nov. 15. He added three rebounds, a block and a steal as the Blue Jays overcame a six-point halftime deficit.

Greene shot 10-of-16 from the floor and made 5-of-8 from beyond the arc. He currently leads the Landmark and ranks 12th in all of Division III with a .538 3-point field goal percentage (28-of-52) on the season. Greene is also averaging 3.5 3-point field goals made per game, good for 31st in the nation.

Sunday's performance marked Greene's fourth game with 20 points or more.

Greene joins Tyler Simpkiss (Dec. 15, 2014) as the only Blue Jays to receive Landmark weekly honors and is E-town's first recipient in three seasons.
