Lawson selected United Soccer Coaches All-Mid-Atlantic Region

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Lydia Lawson earned her first postseason honor at the conference level last month after being named First Team and Offensive Player of the Year in the Landmark Conference. On Wednesday, Lawson's list grew by one after she was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-Mid-Atlantic Region Third Team.

Lawson, a two-sport athlete at Elizabethtown currently assuming the point guard duties for the women's basketball team, had a break-out season for the women's soccer team this past fall. The sophomore forward was the Landmark's leading goal scorer and point producer, with 15 goals and 31 points on the season. She averaged more than a point per game, which ranked her nationally among Division III.

Lawson scored at least once in two-thirds of her games played in 2017, including four multi-goal games and one hat trick. Her three-goal game when her team needed it most; a Landmark Conference playoff clinching win at Juniata on October 28.

After just two seasons, Lawson is three goals, one game-winning goal, and 30 points from putting her own name on the program's top ten lists in those categories.

Lawson is also the first all-region player under coach Amy Hough.
