Blue Jays secure home semifinal game with 3-0 win at Juniata

HUNTINGDON, Pa. -- Elizabethtown men's soccer ended the regular season with a 3-0 victory at Juniata, Saturday, and solidified the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Landmark Conference Championship tournament.

Cameron Sheva, JD Haaf and Gilbert Waso scored first half goals to help the Blue Jays (10-6-1, 4-2-1 Landmark) blitz the Eagles.

Elizabethtown took 11 first-half shots while holding Juniata without a single attempt and ended the game with a 17-3 advantage.

Sheva's first goal of the season put the Blue and Gray ahead in the 13th minute, with an assist going to Haaf. Just 1:25 later, Haaf was the finisher of a Waso feed to double the Jays' lead.

Waso took sole possession of second in the Landmark Conference's goal scoring race when he beat Juniata (1-12-4, 0-6-1) keeper Logan Tackett for his 11th goal in the 39th minute.

Juniata got two shots on goal in the final 45 minutes, but E-town junior keeper Brian Gately stopped both to earn his 10th win and sixth shutout.

Elizabethtown will try to advance to its third straight Landmark championship game Tuesday evening when it hosts third-seeded Catholic on Ira R. Herr Field in a semifinal game at 7 p.m.
