2016 Galen Piper Cross Country Challenge Women's 4k Results

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. -- The Elizabethtown College women's cross country team placed three of its five scorers in the top ten Friday night at the Shippensburg Galen Piper Alumni Cross Country Challenge. All five of E-town's runners were inside the top 20 as the Jays finished as the runner-up to Shippensburg with 55 points.

The trio of Casey Quinto, Kelsey Brady, and Brenna McNamee were all within four seconds of one another. Quinto led Elizabethtown Friday night with a 15:04 to take seventh overall. Brady and McNamee were stride for stride crossing the line and both finished at 15:08. Brady was eighth and McNamee ninth.

A pair of Shippensburg runners completed their 4k's moments before Brianna Earnshaw finished as the fourth scoring member of the Blue Jay team. The senior ran 15:22 to take 12th overall.

In her first collegiate race, Jessi Clark helped round out the scoring for E-town with a 21st-place finish in 15:45. Maria Anderson was a second behind Clark in 22nd at 15:46.

The 55 points were second only to Shippensburg, who ended the meet with 42 points.

Mary Dell, a Shippensburg alum, won the race at 14:24.

The women's cross country team will race next Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Delaware Invitational. The women's race will go off before the men at 10 a.m.
