ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – No. 1 seed Elizabethtown will hosts No. 4 seed Scranton in the semifinal round of the 2016 Landmark Conference Men's Lacrosse Championship Wednesday afternoon at Wolf Field.

The Blue Jays went unbeaten in conference play during the regular season for the second year in a row, once again earning the top seed. They are looking to avenge an 11-10 loss to Catholic in last year's semifinals. Elizabethtown is aiming for its first trip to a conference championship game in the program's 15-year history. The Blue Jays are appearing in a conference semifinal for the eighth time. Seven of those appearances came during an eight-year run between 2004-11 as members of the Middle Atlantic Conference.

Scranton has qualified for the postseason eight times in nine years since the Landmark held its inaugural tournament in 2008. The Royals won the 2011 title and were runners-up in 2009 and 2015. Wednesday's game is the first ever postseason game between the Royals and Blue Jays.

When the two sides met in the regular season, 11 days ago, Scranton sped to a 5-1 lead, before Elizabethtown answered with six straight goals in the third. The Blue Jays would hold on for a 9-7 victory.

E-town's offense, which averages just over 11 goals per game (11.13) will try once again to crack a staunch Royals defense allowing a league-low 6.75 goals per game. Senior goalie Nicholas McKaba, a three-time All-Landmark selection, is a big reason for that with 124 saves, a .549 save percentage and 7.04 goals against average.

While the Blue Jays have found the back of the net with regularity this season, their defense has been a strong point as well. Elizabethtown's 8.81 goals allowed per game rank in the top half of the conference and its 176 caused turnovers are second most in the league, two behind Goucher's 178. Freshman Jeremy Klipple, named yesterday as the All-Landmark Second Team LSM, leads all conference players with 36 caused turnovers.

Elizabethtown and Scranton combined to put nine players on the all-conference teams. The top-seeded Blue Jays were led by First Team picks Joe Clark (Attack; 36 goals, 23 assists, 59 points), Mike Specht (Midfield; 24 G, 12 A 36 PTS, 27 ground balls, 9 caused turnovers) and Mike Tangredi (Defense; 33 GB, 21 CTO). Junior Nick Specht (Short-Stick Defensive Midfield; 25 PTS, 33 GB, 14 CTO) joined Klipple on the Second Team.

Wednesday's game will be broadcast in HD on BlueJays.TV, along with featuring live stats.
