TOWSON, Md. – Elizabethtown College men's tennis was unable to put a dent in Goucher's unbeaten run through the Landmark Conference Wednesday, falling 9-0.

Goucher locked up the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Landmark Conference Championships, while the Blue Jays fell to 2-4 in conference play and 5-8 overall.

Senior Evan Hinkley won his opening set at fifth singles against Midori Fujitani 7-5, but came up just short in a third set supertiebreaker, 5-7, 6-3, 12-10.

The Gophers (15-4, 7-0 Landmark) won the remaining singles matches in straight sets and went through doubles unscathed.

E-town's No. 3 doubles team of Hinkley and Nick Strobel put up a battle against Josiah Meekins and Elliot Diehl, but were on the wrong side of an 8-5 decision.

The Blue Jays play their third straight road match Saturday when they head to Moravian for a 1 p.m. start.
