The top of Elizabethtown's lineup got the job done early, lifting the Blue Jays to four runs over the first two innings in a 7-2 victory.

E-town went in front in the top of the first when Alex Holbert attempted to move Kyle Fackler along on a sacrifice bunt. Merchant Marine first baseman Bryson Campbell misfired on his throw and the error allowed Fackler to scamper home with the first run of the afternoon.

Fackler and Holbert hit RBI singles and Tyler Weary drove in a run on a fielder's choice during a three-run second that put the Jays ahead to stay.

A two-run double from Michael Barnes in the bottom of the third closed the gap to 4-2, but Elizabethtown got the benefit of two more Mariner errors in the top of the fourth to bring three more runs across home plate.

Kristopher Davis remained unbeaten with his fifth win in six starts. The senior went the distance for the second time in as many starts, giving up three hits, two runs and striking out seven.

Patrick Morgan gave up seven runs (three earned) on eight hits over five innings in taking the loss for Merchant Marine.

Fackler was 2-for-3 with a walk, an RBI and two runs scored, while Holbert was 2-for-3 with a run and an RBI. All three RBIs came from the top three in the lineup.

Elizabethtown put up two early runs in the first inning and carried that lead into the fourth.

Merchant Marine took its only lead with back-to-back two-run innings in the fourth and fifth to go in front 4-3, but E-town (18-9, 9-5 Landmark) answered back in a big way.

The Jays tacked on three runs in the sixth to take a 6-4 advanage into the final frame.

Just when it seemed like USMMA (11-11, 6-8 Landmark) would have a fighting chance to steal a game from EC, the Jays turned up their offense in the top of the seventh to the tune of eight runs.

The outburst came on eight hits as the lineup batted around. Weary was the catalyst, leading off the inning with a single. Two batters later, Nick Lorenz reached on a one-out single to load the bases for Aaron Rahn. Rahn singled through the left side to bring two runs home, scoring Sean Jones and Luke Gatti.

After a pitching change and another out, the Blue Jays racked up five straight hits. Ryan Shirk doubled, Fackler and Holbert singled, and Weary and Gatti doubled. Six runs came run with two outs on the board as E-town pushed its lead up to 14-4.

Jones relieved Taras Letnaunchyn for the bottom of the seventh and struck out the side to close out the Jays' seventh straight conference win.

Kevin Elwell earned his second straight victory after going five innings, giving up four runs and striking out two. Elwell moved to 3-3 on the season.

Fackler went 3-for-4 in game two with a team-high four RBIs. Weary was 4-for-5 with three RBIs, two doubles and a triple. Holbert, Gatti, and Frank Canuso had two hits apiece.
