No. 16 men's soccer rolls to 4-0 win over Penn State Berks

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Brent Batory, Martin Fevre and Sam Feehrer scored goals in the first 7:57 for the No. 16 Elizabethtown men's soccer team in a 4-0 whitewash of Penn State Berks Wednesday afternoon at Ira R. Herr Field.

The second all-time meeting between the two schools went much like last fall's first edition did. Elizabethtown (12-1-1) dominated possession and it showed in a 26-6 shot advantage and 14-2 discrepancy in shots on goal.

Batory struck for his first goal of the season on a corner kick just 1:49 in to put the Blue Jays ahead for good.

Fevre would add his sixth of the season on a penalty kick at 7:22 and just 35 seconds later, Feehrer banged home a pass from Jeff Light for his first career goal.

Light, the current Landmark Conference Offensive Athlete of the Week, extended his points streak to four games (4g, 3a, 11 pts) with the assist.

Elizabethtown was rewarded with five first-half corner kicks and put relentless pressure on the Nittany Lions (5-7-1) to the tune of 17 shots.

Jamison MacMain found twine for the first time in 2015 in the 18th minute, scoring off the rebound of a Gilbert Waso shot to elevate the Jays lead to 4-0.

Rodrigo Barrera and Ryan Sandell shared the shutout, each playing a half. Sandell made two saves in what turned out to be the team's eighth shutout of the season and fourth in its last five games.

Elizabethtown was able to give its reserves plenty of opportunity Wednesday with the comfortable lead. Junior transfer Alex Weissenborn made his Blue Jay debut in the win, which also goes into the books as No. 497 for head coach Skip Roderick in his pursuit of 500.

The Blue Jays remain home Saturday for Homecoming when they host Lancaster Bible at 4:30 p.m.
