SCRANTON, Pa. — The Elizabethtown College women's soccer team finished its regular season with a 4-3 come-from-behind victory over Scranton Saturday afternoon. The Blue Jays fell behind in the first half, but scored the next four goals before the Royals got one back just before the end of the game.
Sarah Andrews scored twice in the opening 21 minutes for Scranton (9-7-2, 4-2-1 Landmark) to give the Royals a 2-0 lead over Elizabethtown (13-3, 6-1 Landmark).
Deanna Slater brought a goal back in the 30th minute with a blast from around 16 yards out from goal off a pass from
Lauren Berry. It was Slater's third of the season.
After going into the break down 2-1, Berry notched her tenth of the season less than two minutes into the second half. Kaceyanne Cerkankowski delivered a ball to Berry, who hit a shot from 18 yards out that found the back of the net.
E-town then took the lead in the 70th minute on
Morgan Chambers' first of the season on a pass from
Maddie Burkhardt. Berry added a penalty kick goal in the 88th minute to put the Jays up 4-2 before Scranton pulled back within one seconds before time ran out.
Dana Robidoux made one save in the win, her 13th of the season.
The women's soccer team clinched the No. 2 seed in the Landmark Conference playoffs and will host No. 3 Scranton on Wednesday, November 5 at Ira R. Herr Field.
