ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa.Steph High came within a dig of two double-doubles and Elizabethtown's offense once again flowed smoothly through Kelci Scannapieco in 3-0 Homecoming sweeps of Goucher and Catholic at Thompson Gymnasium Saturday.

Momentum from an early week win over Albright carried into the weekend matchups as the Blue Jays dispatched of their opponents in three sets each. Of the six sets played, three were won by 10 points or more and a fourth finished with a nine-point spread.

Scannapieco continued to attack at an alarming rate, putting up 19 kills on 28 attempts for a .607 hitting percentage against the Gophers. The senior's day only got better when she went for 18 kills against only one error on 27 attempts (.630) in the win over Catholic (20-10, 1-6 Landmark).

The Blue Jays cranked out 26 kills and made only four attacking errors in ripping off 25-16 and 25-10 victories in the first two sets against Goucher. Scannapieco had half of those kills, and was nearly perfect in the opening set with six kills and no errors on seven attempts (.857). Megan McNaul and Taylor Beck added two kills apiece in the first, and Allie Traynor had three in the second.

Elizabethtown (11-15, 2-4 Landmark) hit only .054 in the third, but Goucher (8-17, 1-5 Landmark) was unable to avoid the sweep after hitting in the negative all three sets, falling 25-19. Brynne Kirsch and High got their share of assists on E-town's kill barrage. Kirsch led the way with 14, while High had 14 to go along with nine digs and two aces. Jen Cook posted a team-high 16 digs.

After the Jays picked up the opening match win, they needed a Moravian loss to stay in contention for the final Landmark Conference Tournament berth. Unfortunately, the Greyhounds would outlast Catholic in five sets to secure the final spot.

E-town would not dwell on the circumstance, though, blasting Catholic 25-14, 25-15, 25-21.

Following Scannapieco's 18 kills were six from Beck and an equal number from McNaul. High got her double-double against the Cardinals, handing out 19 assists and digging out 11 CUA attacks. Kirsch had 12 assists and eight digs, while Cook (12) and Beck (11) both collecting double-digit digs.

Elizabethtown hit better than .250 in each set, culminating with a .306 (16-5-36) in the third.

The Blue Jays have two home dates remaining on their 2014 schedule, beginning with Wednesday's match against Division II Millersville at 7 p.m.
