ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Ellen Parr scored the game's only goal with 4:40 left in the second half to give Elizabethtown College a 1-0 victory over Misericordia University in a non-conference women's soccer match at Ira R. Herr Field on Wednesday night.
The winning goal came as a crossing pass ricocheted off the face of a Cougar defender and caromed to Parr, who fired home her second goal of the season to give the Blue Jays (4-5-0 overall) their second consecutive victory.
Elizabethtown finished with a 13-8 lead in shots over Misericordia (2-8-0 overall), but the Blue Jays put just two shots on goal and the Cougars one. The Blue Jays also took 15 corner kicks while the Cougars took one.
Kristen Kelly made one save to record her first shutout of the season for the Blue Jays, while Morgan Myers finished with one stop for the Cougars.
