Blue Jays Beat Rain, F&M

ELIZABETHTOWN, Pa. – Kelsey Boehmer scored a pair of goals and Laura Wingert had two assists as Elizabethtown College shut out Franklin & Marshall College 3-0 in a non-conference women's soccer match on Wednesday night at Ira R. Herr Field.

Playing most of the game in a driving rainstorm, the Blue Jays (2-2 overall) controlled the action against the Diplomats (2-4 overall), finishing with a 15-2 edge in shots and a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks.

Boehmer opened the scoring at 9:03 with her first collegiate goal off a cross from Wingert, and the Blue Jays carried the 1-0 lead into the second half when Amy Bunting notched her first career goal as she deposited a pass from Wingert at 50:24.

Boehmer capped off the scoring with only three seconds remaining as she took a feed from Kristin Eck and chipped a shot from 20 yards out.

Jess Manchak earned her first career shutout for the Blue Jays by making one save, while Katie Golding finished with four stops for the Diplomats.
