Senior Megan Tursi turned in one of the top performances in the country in the 3,000-meter steeplechase this past weekend at the Adidas Raleigh Relays, hosted by North Carolina State University.

Tursi, of Eatontown, N.J., ran a new personal best in section C of the event, winning the heat in 11:00.62, a 40-second improvement from last week's time at the Elizabethtown College Opener and a 25-second personal record. She ran 11:25.42 at the Tuppeny Twilight Last Chance Meet at Swarthmore College in 2011.

Tursi, who was named MAC Athlete of the Week Monday, is just five seconds shy of Megan VanDenHengel's school record of 10:55.47, set in 2010. She currently holds the fourth-fastest steeple time in the country in Division III after this weekend.
