Sophomore righty Zack Tomasko shut out La Roche over six innings in his debut start for the E-town baseball team last week.

Monday, Tomasko was tabbed Pitcher of the Week by the Commonwealth Conference.

Tomasko served as a utility infielder during his freshman season and only threw the odd inning out of the Jays' bullpen –he threw all of two. Tomasko's conversion to a full-time pitcher in the offseason looked almost seamless after his performance Monday. He kept the Redhawks' bats silent, allowing four hits and a trio of walks while striking out six.

Tomasko, from Fleetwood, would earn his first win in E-town's 1-0 victory after teammate Sean Jones finished off a three-inning save.
