Darrin Lenhart enters his first season at the helm of the Elizabethtown College baseball team after being named the 11th coach in program history in Dec. 2025.
Lenhart has served as the assistant baseball coach at East Stroudsburg University since 2020. During his five seasons with the program, the team has amassed 176 wins with; a .690 winning percentage. ESU appeared in the NCAA Division II Tournament for four straight seasons while reaching two super regionals prior to appearing in their first-ever NCAA World Series in 2025. As a member of the pitching staff, Lenhart helped bring the team earned run average (ERA) down from 6.67 to 3.07 in five seasons. While at ESU he was also responsible for managing the budget, planning travel, and helped to maintain compliance with NCAA rules.
Lenhart brings over 20 years of coaching experience to Etown after starting his career as head baseball coach at William Allen High School in 2003. Following his four years at William Allen, Lenhart served as the assistant baseball coach at Emmaus High School.
After his stint at the high school level, Lenhart served as co-manager for the Northern Yankees of the Blue Mountain League. In 2008, he became the assistant baseball coach at Lehigh Carbon Community College before becoming the head coach in 2009. While at Lehigh Carbon, Lenhart built the program into a regional and national contender. He guided the program through acceptance as a division III junior college affiliated with the NJCAA to becoming a division II junior college. At Lehigh Carbon, Lenhart was also responsible for player recruitment, practice and game scheduling, fundraising, and academic oversight.
Lenhart graduated from William Allen High School in Allentown and went on to earn his Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh in 2002. At Pittsburgh, Lenhart was a member of the baseball team where he led the Panthers in hitting in three out of his four years.
He went on to earn his secondary teacher certificate in biology from DeSales University in 2005. He completed his graduate coursework in biology education & educational leadership from Wilkes University and then in 2018, he earned his Master of Science in Exercise Science from East Stroudsburg. Lenhart holds his doctorate degree in health science-movement science from Seton Hall University, which he completed in 2021.
Lenhart is a member of the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), the Mid-Atlantic American College of Sports Medicine (MARC), the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), and the International Society for Biomechanics in Sports (ISBS).
