Casey McGarvey enters his second year as the Assistant Director of Athletics for Operations and Facilties for Elizabethtown in 2023-24. McGarvey who arrived at Elizabethtown in 2019, was previously the Director of Athletic Communications for the department.

In his new role, McGarvey will be charged with oversight of athletic facilities and general department operations. He will lend direct support in key areas including game/event management, facilities, scheduling, compliance, and transportation. 

As the Director of Athletic Communications, McGarvey managed the public and media relations duties for the 24 NCAA Division III varsity sports programs. McGarvey and the athletic communications team at Elizabethtown provides publicity of the academic and athletic achievements of over 440 student-athletes through a variety of channels, including but not limited to social media, traditional media, high-definition webcasts and the Blue Jays’ athletics website.

McGarvey is no stranger to Elizabethtown, having spent the 2008-09 academic year at the College as a member of the cross country and track & field teams. He finished his undergrad at Eastern Connecticut State University and graduated with a bachelor's degree in Sports and Leisure Management and an English minor in 2012.

Prior to Elizabethtown, McGarvey spent a year at the University of Hartford as the Assistant Director of Athletic Communications. He spent four years at the United States Coast Guard Academy as Assistant Sports Information Director as well as Director of New Media.

In addition to his work at each institution, McGarvey gained valuable experience at the professional levels, working with the WNBA's Connecticut Sun and the New England Black Wolves of the National Lacrosse League. He served as game day media relations staff for each organization, where he was responsible for distributing statistics, preparing game notes, collecting quotes, and writing post-game stories.

McGarvey graduated with a degree in Sports & Leisure Management from Eastern Connecticut State University in 2012 and earned a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Elizabethtown in 2022.
