Luke Stauffer joins Elizabethtown College's wrestling staff as an assistant coach in 2012-13. Stauffer is a 2002 graduate of Elizabethtown Area High School and wrestled collegiately at the University of Maryland.
The younger brother of Blue Jays' assistant J.P. Stauffer, Luke won a PIAA District 3 Championship at 145 lbs., in 2001, and appeared in a pair of PIAA Championships ('01 and '02) in the same weight class. Stauffer finished third at states as a senior, and sixth as a junior. He also was the Lancaster-Lebanon League champ at 145 in 2002.
Following a 129-22 career at Elizabethtown High School, Stauffer earned a scholarship to the University of Maryland and wrestled for the NCAA Division I Terrapins. He graduated from UMD in 2006 with a degree in physical education.
Stauffer teaches health and physical education at Susquehanna Township High School, and has been an assistant coach on Elizabethtown Area High School's varsity wrestling team since 2006.
Stauffer is one of many EAHS grapplers to now have ties to the Blue Jays' collegiate program. Besides serving as an assistant with his brother this season, Luke also was a high school teammate of 2012 NCAA DIII All-American and E-town College grad, Quint Eno. Stauffer also wrested for head coach Mike Sernoffsky at EAHS, father of Blue Jay assistant coach Jared Sernoffsky.
In addition to J.P., Luke has another brother, Adam, who also wrestled at EAHS.
